Will fight for farmers’ cause
Nellore, Nov 18: Reiterating that Chandrababu government is anti-farmer and has been cheating them time and again, YSRCP has demanded that the Annadatha Sukhibhava scheme be implemented to all eligible farmers and supply urea to them in the required quantity.
Speaking to media here on Tuesday, former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy said, Chandrababu has gone back on all his poll promises, more so to farmers and failed to give the promised Rs 20,000 to the farmers in the first year in the second year, he has been giving Rs 2,300 in two instalments.
On one hand it was drastically cut down and the number of beneficiaries has also come down drastically from the previous 53.58 lakh families, and every excuse was used to reduce the number of beneficiaries by weeding out tenant farmers, those in non-WEB land, heirs not been included in the list and in the name of resurvey many names were deleted and kept in abeyance.
During YS JaganMohan Reddy term all eligible farmers were given Rythu Bharosa on time besides various farmer welfare programmes were carried out like e-crop, insurance and RBK services and attending to the grievances of farmers promptly. CMAPP was a boon to farmers and they have been pouring their hearts out during the one crore signature campaign launched by YSRCP, he said.
The promise of paying Rs 20,000 to farmers from June 2024 was not fulfilled in the first year and in the second year the scheme is being watered down to 46.85 lakh while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has given about Rs 10,000 crores to farmers in the first year itself.
The second issue is about the shortage of urea. The anti-farmer nature of the government has been once again established with the acute shortage of urea which is being sold in black market at Rs 400 per bag while it actually costs Rs 270. Worse is the government giving urea cards and rationing the urea and farmers are not getting the required quantity of urea.
Farmers are not getting MSP to any of the crop and they are in distress and the coalition government is neglecting them. The Agriculture minister lacks basic knowledge about his ministry while TDP cadre has been cornering the urea and selling it at a premium.
YSRCP will stand with the farmers and fight it out with the government on the urea issue and to give Annadatha Sukhibhava money to all eligible farmers without any riders, he said.
