YSRCP asks cadres to shun new year fest

Press Release

Hyderabad
, December 30: YSR Congress leaders have asked the cadre to keep away from the New Year celebrations in protest against the undemocratic arrest of Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and instead intensify the signature campaign in support of Jagan.

“In wake of the undemocratic arrest YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the political vendetta of vested interests in filing multiple charge-sheets and using CBI as a tool to settle political scores, the cadre should keep away from the celebrations and intensify the one crore signature campaign,” party leaders, Mekapati Rajmohan Reddy, DA Somayajulu, Bajireddy Goverdhan and Janak Prasad told reporters here on Sunday.

Boycotting the New Year celebrations is a mark of protest against the nexus between Congress and TDP to keep YS Jagan Mohan Reddy away from people and CBI functioning against its own manual to please its political bosses, they said.

Though YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was the 52nd accused, CBI has shown him as the first accused and did not care to arrest those persons who actually signed the GOs.

The State Government’s behaviour was Quixotic when it stated to Supreme Court that the 26 GOs were legal.

There were efforts to scuttle the bail plea of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Supreme Court, High Court and CBI special court and CBI in its protracted investigation could not find out any thing new other than what our leader had declared in the IT returns or what was stated in the affidavit while contesting Lok Sabha elections, they said.

The functioning of CBI has been raising many questions and it has been very selective in arrests and the four charge-sheets is phenomenon by itself.

All this is a political conspiracy only to defame YSR family members and the signature campaign is to mobilise public opinion against the discrimination YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is being facing. Nearly 30 lakh signatures have been collected so far and on the New Year the campaign should be intensified, they said adding that the letter with one crore signatures will be submitted to the President Pranab Mukherjee as a memorandum.

CBI has distorted the High Court direction on the PIL filed by political adversaries, TDP and Congress, and has never been consistent on any charge and could get no evidence despite its best efforts while the Government itself has been speaking in two voices, they said.

They appealed to the cadre, sympathizers and well wishers to shun from the New Year celebrations to protest the arrest of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his confinement to jail beyond the permissible term.
