Telangana is special for YSR, Jagan: Sharmila

Press Release

Pullur (Mahboobnagar district)), Nov 22: Asserting that Telangana has a special place and affinity in the hearts of YSR and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Sharmila has said YSR Congress is committed for the development of the region, which has been the launching pad for many welfare schemes of YSR.

“The development of Telangana region has been high on the agenda of YSR Congress and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will strive to bring back the golden era of YSR who has given a lion’sshare to the region in all the welfare schemes he had launched,” Sharmila told a large gathering on course of her Maro Praja Prasthanam, that entered Telangana on Thursday.

Be it the free power connections, or other schemes like Aarogyasri, Pavala Vaddi or Rs 2-a-kg rice, it was Telangana which was given a major share. Even in Jalayagnam, the region was given priority with major projects like Polavaram to address the needs of Telangana farmers, she said.

The ruling Congress has diluted all his schemes and put the clock of development backward and has ganged with main opposition TDP with the sole intention to defame YSR family members.

What the two parties lack and is abundant in YSR and Jagan Mohan Reddy is credibility and reliability. When YSR died, 660 persons died of shock across the state and majority of them are from this region. The ruling Congress made no effort to console them, she said.

Keeping promises made is the quintessential quality of YSR family, unlike the ruling Congress or TDP leaders, Sharmila said. Jagan had taken up the cause of farmers, weavers, and students and he is always with the people, who reciprocate the love and affection. The Praja Prasthanam padayatra of YSR was also started from this region, she recalled. Congress, which retained power on the basis on YSR’s good governance, has lost its moral grounds to rule the State when YSR’s name was included in the FIR. Ministers and MPs who were given positions by YSR remained mute spectators to the gross injustice, she said.
