CBI double
standards to the fore: YSRCP

Hyderabad, September 26: Questioning the double
standards of CBI by allowing bail to 24 persons, including a minister and
senior bureaucrats in service and denying bail to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on the
grounds that he would influence the witnesses, YSRP spokesperson Vasireddy
Padma has said the Government of the day and the investigation agency will be
answerable to all these anomalies.

Speaking to media here on Wednesday, she said:
“While Roads and Buildings minister Dharmana Prasada Rao and 13 others could
just walk away with bail, CBI did not raise any objection. All the 14 persons
are in Government holding high positions.

The same CBI has firmly objected bail to YS Jagan
Mohan Reddy contending that he would influence the witnesses. This fallacy in
argument clearly shows that CBI has an agenda to save many and target YSR
family members and friends.

“YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was arrested by CBI on the
grounds that he was not cooperating with the investigation agency and
subsequently changed its stance saying that he would influence the witnesses
if granted bail. The same rule should apply to people who are in the
Government but CBI did not object bail to the 14 persons,’ she said.

The Prime Minster was not arrested nor charged with
any irregularity in the 2G scam but the concerned minister and officials were
arrested, in the Coalgate even concerned officials were taken into custody and
in the Commonwealth Games scam too the concerned minister and officials were
arrested.

In the State the proceedings seem to be very
different. The ministers and bureaucrats responsible for the 26 GOs were not
arrested and were given bail even. Barring one minister to justify the arrest
of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, CBI functioning has been dubious from the very
beginning, she said.

Instead of proceeding from the 26 GOs angle, CBI
arrested YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who according to the agency had influenced the
government to allot land to industrialists who in turn had invested in his
companies. Surprisingly this presumption has gained CBI’s attention than the
sanctity of the GOs, she said.

CBI being silent when the bail application was
moved by Dharmana Prasada Rao who was a Minister for eight years and
bureaucrats who were in service for over 20 years is contrary to what is
happening in the UPA-II scams. Its contention that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should
not be given bail as he would influence the witnesses will not go well in the
people’s court and it is very evident that CBI is shielding some and has been
vindictive towards YSR family members, she said.
