Hyderabad: In a protest against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's failure to deliver his promise of a job for every household and unemployment allowance to youth, the YSR Congress party's (YSRCP) Youth and Student wing led massive rallies in several district headquarters across the State this morning.
YSRCP Youth wing State working president Harish Yadav, who led a huge rally in Anantapur, demanded that the State government immediately fill up the 2 lakh job vacancies in the State government. He also demanded that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government immediately increase the unemployment allowance for youth.
Last week, the State government announced its unemployment allowance scheme, Mukhyamantri Yuva Nestam, which provides Rs 1000 per month to just 12 lakh unemployed youth. YSRCP MLC Vennapusa Gopal Reddy said that Chandrababu cheated the unemployed youth by providing just Rs 1,000 as allowance. The promised sum was much more. Besides, the allowance will only be given for the next few months. What about the previous months?
In Nellore district headquarters, the YSRCP youth and student wing leaders staged a rally in demand for justice to unemployed youth in the State. Student leader Sravan Kumar said that the government was decieving the youth of the State.
Similarly, the YSRCP student and youth wings staged massive protests in YSR Kadapa, Chittoor, Krishna, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari districts.
