YSRCP team for Polovaram on Dec 7

Hyderabad: YSR Congress team will visit Polavaram project on December 7 to review the work in progress and submit its report to Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Party MP YV Subba Reddy said, "the team will visit Polavaram and apprise the developments to the Leader of Opposition YS  Jagan Mohan Reddy who will chalk out the future course of action on the multi-purpose project which is being used by the Chandrababu Naidu government as a milch cow for kickbacks.
The State Reorganisation Act has clearly stated that the Polavaram is national project and all works will be taken up by the Centre which will execute and obtain necessary permissions for the completion but Chandrababu Naidu has wilfully sought to take over the project for the sake of kickbacks and when the issue did not work out, he has been expressing doubts after the Centre has raised some technical issues for which TDP government has no answers.
The Centre has categorically stated that it will release the funds as per the 2014 estimates while TDP presumed that it would get revised estimates and there is a yawning gap between the two, the former being Rs 16,000 crores while the latter works out to Rs 58,319 crores, he said.
Chandrababu Naidu, who is in South Korea, spoke only about the financials and not on the issue of progress of the project, which shows that he is interested in kickbacks and not in completion of the project, he said.
During his entire previous term from 1995 to 2014 and the present tenure he had never completed a single irrigation project while YSR has worked hard in getting the sanctions for Polavaram and had completed major, medium and minor irrigation projects.
Chandrababu Naidu could not complete even the Telugu Ganga project, stated by NTR and it was YSR who had completed it in the interest of Rayalaseema, he said.
Chandrababu Naidu should first answer as to what was the reason for taking over the Polavaram project from the Centre and why backtrack now as the Central officials have clearly mentioned that the project has been transferred to State as per the request of the State Government.
The team will visit Polavaram tomorrow and give its impression to the Party President who will decide the future course of action, he said.
