Tadepalli, July 4: YSRCP President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy personally enquired about the health condition of Mannava village Sarpanch and YSRCP leader Bonigala Nagamalleswara Rao, who was seriously injured in an attack by TDP supporters on Thursday evening.
Nagamalleswara Rao is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU after being brutally assaulted with deadly weapons. YS Jagan spoke over the phone with his brother and former MPP Venu Prasad to gather details about the incident and Rao’s current condition.
Party leaders informed Jagan that the attack was carried out by a TDP mob at the instigation of the local MLA. Expressing deep concern, he described the assault as a barbaric act driven by political vendetta. It was brought to his attention that Nagamalleswara Rao and his family, known for their dedicated public service and grassroots leadership, had become targets due to their growing public goodwill.
It was also conveyed to Jagan that ever since the TDP-led coalition government assumed office, Rao had been resisting illegal activities in the village, which allegedly led to the attack. He condemned the failure of the ruling coalition to ensure public safety and uphold democratic norms.
YS Jagan assured the family that senior YSRCP leader and Ponnur constituency coordinator Ambati Murali Krishna would remain in touch and take all necessary steps for medical care and support. He also instructed Murali Krishna to provide timely health updates and expressed hope for Rao’s speedy recovery.
