YSRCP Sets 7 day Deadline On Water Release

YSR Kadapa: YSR Congress Party has set a week days deadline to Andhra Pradesh government on the release of water to KC canal and Telugu Ganga projects to provide irrigation and drinking water needs to the farmers of Rayalaseema districts.

YSR Congress MLAs Raghurami Reddy,Ravindranath Reddy and MP Avinash Reddy met  the Collector and submitted a memorandum demanding the immediate release of  water. The leaders said that water levels in Srisailam has been reached to 870 feet and the available water will meet the demand for irrigation purpose also. They also demanded the government to construct a reservoir at Rajoli to utilise water going waste from Kunduru.  At least 40 TMC of water was going waste through Somasila project.

The YSR Congress leaders said the then former Chief minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy laid foundation stone at Rajoli for a reservoir in 2008 but no works were taken up by his predecessors.  They alleged Chandrababu neglected all irrigation projects conceived by YSR to address water crisis in Rayalaseema districts.

They warned the government of launching a big agitation involving farmers if water is not released in a  week
