YS Jagan’s Letter To President

In what could be a last resort to seek a fair and  impartial probe in to the attack on the Leader Of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy , a six-page letter to the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind,  was submitted  to him where where YS Jagan gave a detailed account of the attack on him at the Visakhapatnam airport VIP lounge by a TDP follower Srinivasa Rao on October 25.
He urged the President to entrust the investigation to an agency  which does not act under the control of the State government and  sought a transparent inquiry free from  state government interference.
In the letter, spoke he spoke at length about the manner in which the investigation was being conducted by  the State government  and was being undertaken in a predetermined and deficient manner. He also  alleged, that the  Director General of Police (DGP) made a “hasty” statement claiming that “initial investigation had indicated that the attack by the assailant, was solely motivated by his desire to gain public attention.” Mr. Jagan said the statement made by the DGP without proper confirmation was an attempt to dilute the issue, to suit the interests of the TDP government.
He  also said that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and the Director General of Police in AP, RP Thakur were deliberately playing down the conspiracy behind the attempt on his life in the VIP lounge of Visakhapatnam airport  and that they were portraying this to be an incident as an internal ploy of his own party. And if that was not enough they police and the airpiort security were passing the buck aabout the security lapse in the VIP lounge in the Visakhapatnam airport.
YSR Congress Party’s Rajya Sabha members V. Vijaya Sai Reddy and V. Prabhakar Reddy along with a team of YSRCP leaders met President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday and  submitted the letter  and urged him to intervene in the investigation .
