Ananatapur: The Praja Sankalpa Yatra taken up by YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has entered into Anantapur on Monday. It will be the third district after YSR Kadapa and Kurnool.
Speaking on the occasion, party senior leader from Anantapur district Anantha Venkatarami Reddy said the most backward district in Rayalaseema has been developed only under YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s regime. YSR strove hard to address drinking and Irrigation water crisis during his rule.
The Handri Neeva project project taken up by YSR gave a big relief to farmers. After Chandrababu Naidu assumed CM office, the project was neglected and the farmers fell in deep trouble again. Nearly 4 lakh agriculture labourers migrated to other places for livelihoods. But, AP government did not take any measures.
The YSRCP leader also pointed out that 400 farmers committed suicide due to mounting debt burden and non waiver of the loans. Only 45 bereaved families got compensation and the rest of them were left in the lurch. YS Jagan launched the Praja Sankalpa Yatra to instill confidence among distressed farmers and other poorer sections.
