Hyderabad, Castigating the TDP government for misusing official machinery to settle political scores, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has demanded for a CBI inquiry into the recent murders of YSRCP leaders in government offices in Ananthapuram district.
“We have apprised the Governor ESL Narasimhan of the deteriorating law and order situation in the State, government offices becoming the haven for killing political rivals, State sponsored attacks being on raise and asked him to ensure a CBI probe into the incidents,” Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy told reporters here on Monday after submitting a memorandum to Governor at Raj Bhavan.
There were eight murders in Ananthapuram district alone and the DGP, who was to retire in two months was given two years extension, hails from the same district and hobnobs with TDP leaders, who are on the rampage killing YSRCP leaders in a ghastly manner.
The April 29th murder of B Prasada Reddy was very heinous. He was called to the MRO office by the Revenue Inspector on phone and when he turned up, he was brutally murdered and the weapons were stacked in the MRO office itself. The name plate of the Sub-Inspector was found at the scene of offence which happens to be a government office giving credence to the fact that this is a state-sponsored murder. Irony is the police station is next door.
One month before that, another YSRCP leader, Vijay Bhaskar Reddy who is a Single Window Chairman of Krishtipadu, was called to the Office by the CEO and asked to put in the papers. When he refused he was beaten to death. The ghastly incident took place on Mach 31.
Ever since, Chandrbabu Naidu came to power the attacks on political adversaries is on the rise and the State is pursuing with its agenda of eliminating political adversary.
This trend should be checked and a CBI inquiry should be ordered into the recent murders was our request to the Governor, he said.
