YS Jagan Offers Kudos To Indian Sportspeople

The leader of opposition and YSRCP president YS Jagan gave kudos to the sportpeople of India who exhibited their uncompromising effort at Rio Olympics. In his Tweet, he specifically mentioned Dipa Karmakar and Lalita Babar and appreciated their efforts. He also wished luck to Badminton players Kidambi Srikanth and PV Sindhu for going forward in the game. The players retweeted and thanked YS Jagan.

In pre-quarter finals of Badminton, Srikanth defeated Jan O Jargensen, the 5th ranker in the world. India’s last hope in women’s singles badminton event, PV Sindhu will be out on court against Chinese Taipei badminton player Tai Tzu-ying in the pre-quarter-finals at Rio 2016 Olympics. Although she lost the bronze with 0.5 points of narrow gap in Gymnastics, Dipa Karmakar gave a tremendous performance. Babar clocked 9:22.74 in the finals, nearly three second outside her national record effort of 9:19.76 in the qualification on Saturday.
Despite her 10th finish, Babar’s effort was still the best performance by an Indian in a track event after PT Usha’s fourth-place finish in the 400m hurdles in 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
