Woman farmer's plight moves YS Jagan

Anantapur: YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was deeply moved seeing the plight of the cotton farmers in Tadpatri assembly constituency. As part of the Praja Sankalpa Yatra, YS Jagan is currently touring the constituency and is meeting farmers en route.

On the Day 28 of his Yatra, he met a woman farmer in Veeranna Palle. The woman farmer sowed cotton. The cotton crop has completely wilted and she pointed out that the yield is less that just two quintals per acre. She said she is unable to recover even the input costs. She showed her children and said that she is unable to get them educated because of her poor economic condition. A deeply moved YS Jagan assured the woman that he would take the responsibility of supporting the education of her children.

Speaking on the occasion, YS Jagan said that it was due to the negligent attitude of Chandrababu Naidu government that the farmers are not getting remunerative prices. He said the Chandrababu Naidu has not announced any support price for cotton. Another womn met YS Jagan at Penamaka Junction and complained that she is not getting pension even three years after her husband’s death. She said she is doing menial jobs to support her family.
