Water Should Be Distributed Equally To The Four States
12 May 2016 11:51 AM

Vijayawada: During his visit to Kodali
of Ghantasala mandal in Krishna district, YSRCP farmers’ wing president M.V.S.Nagireddy
demanded the central Government for the formation of an independent Krishna
River Authority in order to avoid inter-state conflict pertaining to river
water consumption. He expressed support to Telangana’s argument in the Supreme
Court over Brijesh Kumar Tribunal’s verdict. He supported the opinion that the
four states should be allocated water according to projects, after careful
re-examination. On the other hand, he questioned how the Government of
Telangana could direct 120 TMC of water through Palamuru-Rangareddy Dindi lift
irrigation scheme without any allocations in place.
