Vijayamma assures Godavari delta modernization

Modi, (West Godavari

Party honourary president Smt. Y. S. Vijayamma was moved when the people of
Modi village in West Godavari district narrated their suffering to her today.

The villagers told her
they have been constantly living in water for the last four days and no
official has come to their rescue. The local fishermen have submitted a
memorandum to her seeking solution to their problems.

Vijayamma also
inspected the Yanamadurru drain and its surroundings and said the area has been
frequently subjected to floods as the Government has neglected the
modernization of the Godavari Delta.

She told them she was
visiting the flood- hit areas on the suggestion of party president Y.S. Jagan
Mohan Reddy and to know their problems first hand. “All your problems will be
solved once Jagan Mohan Reddy becomes the CM. He will surely take steps for
modernizing the Godavari delta,” she told them.

On the instructions of Vijayamma, local party
leaders and activists distributed food packets for the flood victims.
