'Venkaiah Naidu remarks ridiculous'

Hyderabad, Taking strong objection to the remarks of Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu that he alone is the savior of Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress has said that his turn-around on the special status has now become very infamous and the August 29 bandh called by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will show to the country the will of the people on the issue.

‘Venkaiah Naidu speaking at a public meeting at Tadepalligudem stated that he is the only savior of the State which is highly objectionable and he showering praises on Chandrababu Naidu at a time when the latter is neck deep involved in the cash for vote
scam shows their affinity and their lack interest in public issues as the personal issues are coming to the fore,’ party leader B.Brahmananda Reddy told reporters here on Friday.

Venkaiah Naidu speaking in a way discouraging the people in participating in the bandh shows that he has no interest in the special status issue. Ironically it was he who raised the issue in the Rajya Sabha and sought ten years special status instead of five years.

After coming to power both Venkaiah Naidu and Chandrababu Naidu went back on their promises and fell in the eyes of public. Though Venkaiah Naidu was elected to Rajya Sabha from the nieghbouring Karnataka state, he boasting that he is the savior of Andhra Pradesh is ridiculous and an insult to the six crore people of Andhra Pradesh.

The union minister patting the chief minister at a time when Chandrababu Naidu’s name has figured 22 times in the ACB charge-sheet only shows the intentions and the interests of the two leaders. The Chief Minister has never raised the issue of special status with the Centre vehemently and it was only YSRCP leaders who voiced the concern many times.

‘The bandh called by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Aug 29 will show the people who stands with the people and expresses concern for future generations,’ he said and appealed to all sections to participate in the bandh and make it a grand success.
