Troubling Farmers Will Lead To Agitation

Visakhapatnam: YSRCP's state executive committee member Ankamreddy Jameel cautioned that an agitation would take place if the Government was unjust to the farmers cultivating in Kharif season. Districution of seeds was taken up in Nathavaram of Visakhapatnam district. YSRCP leaders condemned the distribution of seeds other than RGL seeds wanted by farmers. They demanded to know if RGL seeds had been transported to be used in the black market. The farmers declared that they would hinder seed distribution until agriculture officer came down and gave them an answer. Jameel reached at the right time and solved the problem.
Speaking later, he mentioned that Kharif cultivation was carried out in a wide area at Nathavaram mandal below Tandava reservoir and questioned how just it was to not get RGL seeds there. He remarked that agriculture officers were actually supposed to send proposals for enough seeds well in advance. He also stated that the Government was responsible for handing over the seeds to the farmers in time.
