TDP remarks, a pack of lies

Hyderabad: Dubbing the remarks of TDP leadership as a pack of lies, YSR Congress has said that Chandrababu Naidu has to quit as he was unable to prove the charges against Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy vis-à-vis Paradise Papers leak.

Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, party MLA Buggana Rajendernath Reddy said, ‘ Chandrababu Naidu has failed to pick the gauntlet thrown by our Party President and has been floating false propaganda quoting some newspaper clippings which cannot stand the scrutiny of any measure and said being in the government they can bring out authentic documents but they are evading that as what they are telling is a pack of lies.

As he could not prove the charges levelled against our leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, he has to quit the office and a corrupt person cannot speak of morals and the serious charges he has been facing right from the cash for vote case, he has no moral right to speak about corruption,’ he said.

The linkage of our leader through a person, whose name figures in the list has no relevance as he is known to Congress leader Chiranjeevi and film star Akkineni Nagarjuna as well and the association with a person cannot be read as being involved in the alleged issue.

When one of the director’s name of Heritage Foods, the company run by Chandrababu Naidu family, appeared in the Panama Papers there was no reaction from the Chief Minister who ran away from the city after he was named in the cash for vote case and started staying in a house which has no permission and was built illegally.

The extravaganza was blatant when the temporary constructions had come up spending crores of rupees and the numerous foreign jaunts of Chief Minister and his entourage has been spending lavishly from the exchequer.

Chandrababu Naidu’s foreign trips outnumber the visits of the External Affairs minister of the country as well, he said. Corruption has been the mainstay of TDP governance and kickbacks is the keyword. The cost of Polavaram project, which was supposed to be taken up by Centre, was revised from Rs 16,000 crores to Rs 58,000 crores to favour the contracts and get kickbacks. The government has issued GO to favour contractors and there has been backhand deals in sand mining, temple lands, pushakarams and every activity.

CAG has reported that the TDP has secured loans of Rs 1.22 lakh crores during the 3.5 years and one can work out the average loan per head, he said.

Finance Minister Yamala Ramakrishnudu has been speaking without any coherence and it was former TDP MLA Revanth Reddy who categorically said that Yanamala’s kin has contracts of over Rs 2,000 crores in Telangana state.

While YS Jagan Mohan Reddy could secure 44 % of the popular vote in 2014 without any tie-up, TDP could get just one percent more with the help of BJP, Pawan Kalyan and other factors which shows who is more popular among the voters, he said.

All this incoherent talk comes out of the fear that has dawned on them after seeing the popularity of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his Padayatra. The padayatra need not be undermined in the name of boycotting the assembly session. If the four defectors are dropped from the cabinet as part of initiating action against the turncoats, we will attend the assembly, he said adding that Chandrababu Naidu too has the record of going on padayatra at very odd hours and rounding it off.
