Sharmila assures 103 service for cattle
14 Nov 2012 2:10 PM

Sharmila, who is doing
Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on behalf of YSR Congress Party chief Y.S.
Jagan Mohan Reddy, assured cattle herders that YSRCP would introduce 103 mobile
veterinary medical service for sheep and other cattle after coming to power.
Sharmila gave this
assurance to scores of shepherds who met her on Wednesday and narrated their
problems after she resumed her Padayatra on 28th day from Adoni. She
interacted with cattle herders and daily labourers during the course of her
walkathon in Kurnool district.
They told Sharmila
there is no insurance scheme for their sheep and are facing problems to provide
veterinary care for their cattle. “Sheep are being affected due to seasonal
diseases and dying due to lack of proper medical care. Neither is there
insurance for our cattle,” they told Sharmila.
Daily laborers, with
most of them being women, also met Sharmila and complained they are not getting
more than Rs.20 a day for their work under National Rural Employment Programme
(NREP).
“Majority of the
laborers are migrating from the district due to lack of regular work and even
the daily wages are not crossing the Rs.20 mark when we get work,” they told
her, adding they used to get daily wages ranging from Rs.80 to Rs.120 during
YSR regime.
