Hyderabad, Dec 17, 2012:
Smt. Sharmila, who has been undertaking Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on
behalf of YSR Congress chief Sri. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, has been admitted to
the Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad today.
Specialist doctors, who
conducted MRI scan on the ligament injury she sustained on her right leg during
the course of Padayatra three days ago in the LB Nagar constituency, said she
will undergo a keyhole operation tomorrow or day after.
Smt. Sharmila sustained
the injury following a slip while boarding the bus during Maro Praja Prasthanam.
The Party suspended her Padayatra during the last three days as she couldn’t
walk because of the injury. Orthopedic surgeons and specialist doctors have
been continuously monitoring her condition. Doctors said the operation may be
performed in the next two days.
Dr. Somasekhara Reddy,
who has been monitoring the treatment of the ligament injury and conducting
medical tests on her, made it clear she should take rest for at least three
weeks after the operation.
Sharmila has so far
completed walking a distance of 822 km in 57 days prior to suspending her
Padayatra from Saturday following the ligament injury she sustained.
