The National Green Tribunal (NGT) issued notices to Andhra Pradesh government for contempt of court over non-compliance of its orders with regard to the construction of Amaravati, the new state capital. The tribunal also issued notices to the state environment and urban development departments and Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) for the contempt. On receiving complaints about the government's illegal use of farm lands in the area during the inauguration ceremony, the tribunal questioned the government why it did not uploaded various permissions received for the construction of the capital city on its website. The tribunal directed the government and the concerned departments to submit their explanation within a week's time.
