Hyderabad: In a vitriolic attack on Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan for his remarks, YSR Congress has said that he shares the shame of going back on the poll promises and has to own up every irregularity of the State government as he was in coalition with TDP and BJP during elections making him answerable to the people and has ceased the right to question.
‘TDP manifesto has prominently placed the pictures of Pawan Kalyan along with Chandrababu Naidu and Narendra Modi and at no point of time did the film star distanced himself from TDP which makes him a partner to all the corruption, maladministration and nepotism of TDP governance and he makes an appearance whenever the Chief Minister’s stock goes down, the latest being the Polavaram debacle and the huge success of Praja Sankalpa Yatra of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy,’ party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma told reporters here on Thursday.
Politics is not a recess between two film schedules and the dramatic appearances carry no aura as Pawan Kalyan is a party to the every misdeed of TDP and he has lost the right to question and the script slackens with every appearance as the issues of Polavaram, Special Category Status (SCS), rampant corruption, buying of MLAs and inducting some of them into the cabinet making a mockery of democracy and many such boulders should be shared by his responsible shoulders after having said that he would question if any of the 600 poll promises made by TDP is not fulfilled.
‘It is high time, you realize your position and stand up to answer the questions being raised by people and shun from the theatrics as politics is a serious vocation and a continuous affair and demands that one has to react to situations, events and decisions taken by the ruing dispensation of which you are undisputedly a part and coming on to the stage timing it with the vacuum for reasons in the ruling dispensation cannot go unnoticed.
Our Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been a victim of vindictive politics of TDP and Congress and has been bravely facing the charges and the matter is in court and your reference to the issue makes you more vulnerable for criticism going by your background, political or otherwise.
You have said that you entered active politics to avenge some loss that your brother had suffered which shows that you are no different from Chandrababu Naidu who places his personal interests ahead of people’s interests. When farmers and weavers were committing suicides, your script writer had failed to see the reason to question the government, when the state interests were mortgaged by foregoing the rights on SCS and Polavaram being left out like an orphan, and when the cash for vote case had come out with some recorded evidence or when dalits and women were harassed and humiliated. What happened to your conscience when the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) floated by your brother was folded up and merged with Congress shattering the aspirations of party workers and people, Vasireddy Padma, who was with PRP, said.
With all the charishma of all your brothers and the heavyweights put together, PRP could secure only 18 % votes while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy could get 48% of votes and your intentions of splitting the votes to benefit TDP will not work as people have come to know about your designs and now get prepared to give answers to the pointed questions from the people, she said.
