Padayatra to expose Govt. failures.: YSRCP

Hyderabad, October 15:
Describing the Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra as unique in many ways, YSRCP
has said that it would be a protest march to highlight the failures of the
State Government and its nexus with main opposition TDP.

“The 3,000 km Padayatra
of YSR daughter Sharmila will turn a new leaf in the polity of the State as no
woman has so far ventured into such a programme and the opportunistic and nexus
politics of Congress and TDP will be the focal point of the Padayatra,” the
Party MLA, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy told media here on Sunday.

The Padayatra will
begin on October 18 at Idupulapaya where a public meeting will be held and will
go on uninterrupted for over six months, he said adding that the protest march
will traverse through Kadapa, Ananthapur and Kurnool districts in the first
phase.

“On the first day of
the Padayatra Sharmila will walk for 14.5 km in YSR Kadapa district,” Karunakar
Reddy, who is member of the coordinating committee along with Kotamreddy
Sridhar Reddy and Putta Prathap, said.

The State Government,
which has been indifferent towards people’s issues, has been taxing them
indiscriminately and has held back the welfare schemes of YSR. While farmers
are a worried lot with the hike in input costs and lack of proper power supply,
industries are being closed due to lack of power supply.

The fees reimbursement
has been diluted drastically while health care has become a far cry in the
Kiran Kumar Reddy government. Even as all the sections of the society are
expressing resentment, the main Opposition TDP has been very irresponsible on
its part.

“Instead of raising the
issue in the floor of the house and move a no confidence motion, TDP has opted
to go on a padayatra criticising the Congress. The double standards of TDP only
speak of the clear nexus between the Congress and TDP,’ he said.

The will expose this
nexus during the padayatra which is our form of protest, he said.
