- Padayatra for special railway zone from March 22
- Yatra named 'Atma Gourava Yatra'
- YSRCP's district president, Gudivada Amarnath
Visakhapatnam: Mentioning how CM Chandrababu had defied the trust of people of AP with his false campaign promises, YSRCP's president of Visakhapatnam district, Gudivada Amarnath, stated that they would achieve special railway zone at any cost. Slamming Chandrababu for mortgaging people's feelings at Delhi for his selfishness, Amarnath spoke at the party's office in Visakhapatnam and announced the Padayatra to be held from the 22nd of this month for achievement of special railway zone.
Reminding the points mentioned in the law for the welfare and development of the newly-formed state of AP after bifurcation, he mentioned that Polavaram project, the life of AP was being taken up by the centre itself and opined that special railway zone for Visakhapatnam should be given in order for the area to develop. He also recollected how political parties competed to promise sanction of special category status to AP. He remarked that crores of rupees of expenditure by Chandrababu on partnership summits had yielded the set up of hardly any industries. He stated that if railway zone was given to AP, there would be no need to conduct any summits.
YSRCP got ready to hold a peaceful struggle against the union and the state Governments in order to get special railway zone for AP. Gudivada Amarnath stated that a padayatra would be held from Anakapalli to Bheemili, covering 8 constituencies and 220 km distance. This would be held from the 22nd of March due to Visakhapatnam election code, he informed.
The yatra would begin from Dr. BR Ambedkar's statue in Anakapalli and end at municipality of Bheemili, he said. Gudivada also informed that the yatra had been named 'Atma Gourava Yatra' as per the direction of the leader of opposition and YSRCP president, YS Jagan. He called for everybody's participation in the yatra to make it a success.
