No Substitute For SCS

Hyderabad, Sept 10: Reiterating that there is no substitute for special category status, YSR Congress has said that Chandrababu Naidu has compromised on the issue. ‘The Chief Minister told the Council that there is not much use with Special status which shows that he has compromised on the issue. The house has sent a resolution twice demanding special category status yet the Centre did not move nor did the State pursue it which shows its sincerity,’ party MLA K Sridhar Reddy told reporters here on Saturday.

Chandrababu Naidu must be looking at the commercial aspect of the Polavaram project and has hoodwinked the core issue but we will continue to fight and join hands with any political party and social organsation that demand special status, he said.

Industries and employment opportunities will grow only with special status and not with special packages, he said and reminded that YS Jagan has been relentlessly taking up the issue at various forums and will continue to do so. Pawan Kalyan has also made a similar demand and we welcome any one who is in favour of special status, he said.
