Granite industry will have its shining back

Khammam, April 26,
2013: Smt. Y. S. Sharmila, who has been undertaking Maro Praja Prasthanam
Padayatra on behalf of YSR Congress chief Sri Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, had
assured the people that the granite industry in the Khammam district would get
back its shine soon.

“Let YSRCP attain power
and Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy become the CM, the granite industry will get its YSR
period’s shine back,” she told the representatives of granite industrialists’
association and granite workers during a Rachchabanda interaction at Mudigonda
in Khammam district on Thursday.

The representatives
submitted a memorandum to Smt. Sharmila listing out their problems and saying
that the granite industry has been on the verge of closer with longer power
cuts. “Because of the power cuts, our crushers have no work and the workers are
on the roads,” they complained”.

“We used to get subsidy
on royalty and also on power bills during the YSR period. Now, let alone think
of getting subsidies, we are not getting even continuous power supply,” they
told her.

She assured them that
YSRCP, after coming to power, will try to solve their problems on a priority
basis “Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy will take all possible steps to keep the industry
running and to ensure that workers will get back their jobs,” Smt. Sharmila
told them, adding the granite industry in AP will be more productive and
shining than its counterpart in Gujarat.

Farmers
meet Sharmila

Groundnut and maize
farmers had also met Smt. Sharmila and listed out their problems saying the
longer power cuts had made their crops go dry and left them in the lurch.

Sharmila requested them
to be confident of their future and wait for some days for the good days to
come.
