YSR Congress Party chief and Opposition leader in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday said that the government is trying to crush the opposition voice to save the culprits in Agri Gold Scam. Speaking to the media, YS Jagan said that the treasure benches has created hurdles in the House when he tried to present evidence to his allegation against the Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao in multi crore Agri Gold scam.
He said if the government has any evidence to prove the Minister’s innocence, it can present its version with evidence and ultimately the people will decide who is right and what is wrong. But what is the point in not allowing the opposition to present the evidence available with it to the House.
He also took a dig at the government and asked why the government instead of accepting the opposition demand for judicial probe with sitting judge of the High Court aiding raiders to it. He also took exception to the way the Speaker is running the House. This is not the way the way the Speaker is expected to function, YS Jagan quipped.
