EC orders case against Minister Parthasarathy

Hyderabad, Sept 4, 2012: Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathy is in a fix as the Election Commission has directed the Krishna district Collector to file a case against him in the district court for not disclosing the details of his FERA case in the election affidavit during the Assembly elections in 2004 and 2009.
The Special Court for Economic Offences has recently convicted him for a two-month imprisonment for violating FERA provisions ten years ago but the sentence was suspended by the judge enabling him to appeal in high court.
Even as the Minister’s appeal is still pending in the high court, the Central Election Commission has found prima facie evidence against him and ordered the district collector to file a case.
