‘Deception Day’ protest begins in Vizag

Vizag: YSRCP leaders undertook a massive protest in the coastal town of Andhra Pradesh, Visakhapatnam to observe 'Deception Day' against the betrayal of assurances on Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh by the ruling TDP and BJP.
Party leaders and workers from all parts of the state flocked to Vizag to take part in the protest.
The protest commenced formally after the leaders paid floral tributes to late Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy's statue. Later, the 'deeksha' began with prayers from representatives from all political parties. Along with the 5 YSRCP MPS who have up their Lok Sabha seats, MLAs, MLCs and workers wore black clothes to symbolize the protest.
YSRCP leaders vented their ire at the atttitude of the state and central government leaders. They slammed Chandrababu Naidu's protest against the Centre in Tirupati and questioned his silence for four years on SCS. Leaders from YSRCP said that they would be in the forefront of the struggle against the Centre demanding SCS for the state.
MPs who sacrificed their Lok Sabha seats for SCS, Mekapati Rajamohana Reddy (Nellore), YV Subba Reddy (Ongole), Varaprasad (Tirupati), P. Midhun Reddy (Rajampet) and YS Avinash Redddy (Kadapa), Rajya Sabha MPs Vijaysai Reddy, V. Prabhakara Reddy took part in the protest, along with party leaders, Ummareddi Venkateswarulu,Botsa Satyanarayana, Ambati Rambabu, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and others.
