Amaravathi: Demanding that Chandrababu should resign and prove his innocence in Cash for Vote case, YSRCP MLA, Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, he appreciated the Supreme Court for serving notices to Babu in Cash for Vote case. Confiding that such actions would increase the trust held by people on the system of law, he spoke to the media from Amaravathi.
RK informed that the High Court had rejected his plea stating he had no locus standi and stated that anybody could report anything to the court with evidences as per section 190 CRP. He stated that there was no place for the word 'locus standi' in criminal law and exemplified it with Subrahmanyam Swamy vs. Manmohan Singh case where the Supreme Court had stated the same.
RK stated that Chandrababu, the accused, had no right to approach the court in the first place, according to law. Mentioning how the charge sheet contained Chandrababu's name 22 times, he reminded that Chandrababu had nowhere until now, stated that the voice in the audio tapes was not his. Criticising Chandrababu of managing the system in his favour, he stated how he had approached the Supreme Court after the High Court had given its verdict in Chandrababu's favour.
He mentioned ow Chandrababu had been caught red-handed in audio tapes during MLC elections of Telangana, trying to buy MLAs' votes and how the ACB officials of Telangana had not taken the case forward as they should, causing the delay in its investigation.
As per sections 39 and 190 of CRCP law, he had approached the Supreme Court and been fighting for the past three years, Ramakrishna Reddy said. He expressed delight towards the way justice was being served now and stated that the trust and the respect held by people towards the law had multiplied after the notices issued by the court to Chandrababu.
Stating the everybody in politics should have character and credibility, he acclaimed former CM, Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy and YSRCP president, YS Jagan, as the leaders possessing them. Wishing for everybody to be punished equally for their offenses, he thanked the Supreme Court for acting impartially.
RK's lawyer, Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy, mentioned that they had proofs of Chandrababu's offense and confided that he would soon meet his fate.
