Rajahmundry: YSR Congress party (YSRCP) farmers wing Andhra Pradesh president MVS Nagi Reddy criticized Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu saying the governments that had troubled the farmer communities had never progressed. Speaking at a press conference here today, he said that the AP government was causing a lot of problems for the already distressed farmers. "Chandrababu is always trying to deceive the farmers with his lies. The crops in over 25 hectares of land have been destroyed in the State. If the State government does not fulfill the promises made to the farmers, we will stage a statewide protest," he warned.
While the TDP government is yet to provide compensation for the loss caused to the farmers, Chandrababu is giving speeches about zero budget farming, he remarked. "The State government has failed to provide a legally empowered compensation to the farmers. Across six districts, around 322 Mandals have been affected by drought," he mentioned.
The YSRCP leader condemned the arrest of party leader Jakkampudi Raja, who was carrying out a fast until death for farmers' rights.
