Yuvatha Poru, a grand success

Tadepalli / Rajahmundry / Narasaraopeta, June 23: YSR Congress Party’s youth and student wings held a massive state-wide protest on Monday under the banner ‘Yuvatha Poru’, demanding the ruling TDP coalition to fulfil its promises to unemployed youth and students. The protest witnessed participation from thousands across districts, with rallies and demonstrations held in front of Collector offices. In several locations, the police tried to stop the protests, leading to tensions.
Speaking to the media in Rajahmundry, YSRCP Youth Wing State President and former MLA Jakkampudi Raja criticized the government for completely abandoning its election promises. He stated that the TDP-led coalition, despite completing one year in power, has not implemented a single promise made to the youth. The much-hyped “Super Six” assurances were ignored, and neither the creation of 4 lakh jobs annually nor the Rs 3,000 monthly unemployment allowance was fulfilled. He accused the Chief Minister of betraying all sections of society just as he did between 2014 and 2019.
In Tadepalli, YSRCP Student Wing State President Panuganti Chaitanya condemned the police lathi charge on peaceful protestors in Palnadu. He said even asking for implementation of manifesto promises is being treated as a crime. He alleged that students and youth were misled by false promises and blamed the Chief Minister for betraying their trust.
In Narasaraopeta, former MLA Kasu Mahesh Reddy said that despite police violence during peaceful rallies, the youth did not back down. He demanded the government immediately release pending fee reimbursement dues and clear the Rs 72,000 per unemployed youth (Rs 36,000 per year for two years). He accused the ruling leaders of benefiting themselves with positions and wealth while the common youth were left jobless and cheated.
The leaders affirmed that the protests will continue until every promise is implemented.
