YSRCP condemns police misconduct; false cases and brutality

Tadepalli, May 23: Manohar Reddy, State President of the YSRCP Legal Cell, has issued a strong condemnation of the deteriorating law and order situation in the State with certain police officials  acting with impunity and disregarding legal norms. He stated that some police officers have abandoned their khaki uniforms for “yellow shirts,” symbolizing their alignment with political interests and engaging in reckless and unlawful actions. 
Manohar highlighted that despite Supreme Court directives mandating notices and inquiries for cases involving imprisonment of less than seven years, these guidelines are being ignored. The police violating laws even in cases involving women, exacerbating the collapse of law and order in the state.
In a specific case, Manohar pointed mistreatment of a youth named Hari Krishna in Dachepalli.The  police filed a false FIR, wrongly implicating Hari Krishna in an attempted murder case. The youth was subjected to brutal torture, with video evidence available to substantiate the claims. Reports falsely stated that Hari Krishna’s injuries resulted from a fall, despite evidence suggesting he was beaten to the point of being unable to walk. Dachepalli CI Bhaskar Rao, having a history of misconduct, including unfair treatment in a prior case involving a woman named Paleti Krishna Veni.

Manohar raised concerns about the situation in Tadipatri, where former MLA Peddareddy is being prevented from entering his hometown by police acting under political influence. The local SP is complicit in allowing JC Prabhakar Reddy to threaten Peddareddy, turning victims into accused individuals across the state. Manohar warned that such actions have created a climate of fear in Andhra Pradesh, with police officials exceeding their authority. The YSRCP Legal Cell is taking action by filing private cases against offending officers to hold them accountable for their misconduct.
