Narasaraopet, Dec 2: Former Minister Vidadala Rajini, former MLA Kasu Mahesh Reddy and former MLA Dr. Gopireddy Srinivas Reddy strongly condemned the coalition government for foisting fabricated, politically motivated cases against Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and his brother, asserting that the Palnadu double murder has no connection whatsoever to the Pinnelli brothers. Speaking to the media at Narasaraopet, the leaders said the TDP-led coalition has unleashed unprecedented harassment across Palnadu district by targeting YSRCP leaders and cadres with false cases, police threats, repeated station summons and deliberate humiliation. They declared that once Jagan Mohan Reddy returns to power, those responsible for this harassment will not be spared and will receive a fitting “return gift.”
Former Minister Vidadala Rajini said the “Red Book raj” under the TDP coalition has reached its peak, with totally baseless cases filed against innocent leaders. She reminded that the Guntlapadu double murder was clearly identified by the then SP as a clash between two TDP groups on the very day of the incident, yet the Pinnelli brothers were later added only due to political vendetta. She stated that attempts to tarnish the Kasu family’s reputation, despite their decades of service to the State, will fail, and affirmed that YSRCP will stand firmly with its leaders.
Former MLA Kasu Mahesh Reddy strongly refuted the accusations made by TDP MLA Julakanti Brahmareddy, calling his statements completely false and irresponsible. He said the Kasu family’s educational society was formed legally decades before his birth, and not a single illegal construction or land transaction has been carried out. He challenged Brahmareddy to produce even one piece of evidence and further challenged him to an open public debate on Palnadu’s development, asserting that the contributions of the Kasu family to the region, from irrigation to education, are well established and acknowledged. He reiterated that the Pinnelli brothers have no link to the double murder case and accused the TDP of systematically trying to frame them.
Dr. Gopireddy Srinivas Reddy reminded that the then SP publicly stated within an hour of the murders that the incident resulted from a rivalry between two TDP factions, and the first five arrested individuals did not include the Pinnelli brothers. Their names were later added purely out of political malice, he said, adding that the YSRCP stands solidly behind the Pinnelli family and will fight against this injustice.
The YSRCP leaders collectively warned that the coalition government’s misuse of police machinery and targeted persecution of opposition workers will be met with accountability once the party returns to office, and assured that neither the Pinnelli brothers nor any YSRCP activist facing vendetta politics will be abandoned.
