TDP government should clarify on jobs promised through Data Center: Gudivada Amarnath

Visakhapatnam, Oct 17: YSRCP Anakapalli district president and former minister Gudivada Amarnath demanded that the TDP-led government come clean on the actual number of jobs being created through the proposed Data Center project in Visakhapatnam. He said that instead of answering valid public questions, IT Minister Nara Lokesh was indulging in personal attacks to divert attention from the government’s lack of clarity.

Amarnath said the coalition government had announced 22,000 crore rupees worth of concessions for the project but failed to explain how the state or its unemployed youth would benefit from such huge incentives. “During SIPB and cabinet meetings, it was clearly mentioned that only 200 jobs would be created. Yet, the government and its propaganda machinery are falsely claiming that 1.90 lakh jobs will be generated, which is beyond any reasonable estimation,” he said.

He said the YSRCP is not against development or investment, but the government should be transparent about the project’s employment potential and revenue impact. “If the government is truly committed to public welfare, it should issue an official statement detailing the actual number of jobs to be created and how locals will be benefited,” he demanded.

Amarnath reminded that it was YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government that laid the groundwork for the Data Center and IT Park projects, ensuring employment opportunities for nearly 25,000 youth through well-planned industrial development. He announced that YSRCP will hold a “Chalo Rajayyapeta” protest on October 22 in solidarity with local communities opposing indiscriminate land acquisition for the bulk drugs park project.
