Petrol bomb attack to silence questions: Jogi Ramesh demands Naidu’s resignation

Tirupati, Feb 1: Former minister Jogi Ramesh stated that the attack on his residence was a deliberate conspiracy to silence opposition voices and intimidate leaders who question the government. Speaking to the media in Tirupati along with former Deputy CM Narayanaswamy and former MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, he said TDP workers targeted his Ibrahimpatnam home with petrol bombs while he was away, creating fear among his family and supporters.

He stated that coalition leaders were acting with arrogance of power and said police stood as mere spectators while attacks on opposition leaders continued. Ramesh stated that when he and other YSRCP leaders take government failures, corruption, and anti-people policies to the public, the ruling leadership reacts with physical attacks. He questioned whether raising objections to alleged misinformation on the Tirumala laddu issue was a crime, noting that the CBI SIT charge sheet found no animal fat in the ghee.

He asked why no cases were filed against those spreading false propaganda or installing provocative flex banners, and why police were instead guarding such displays. Ramesh said these were signs of “perverse politics” aimed at suppressing dissent. He asserted that opposition leaders will not stop questioning the government out of fear and warned that those responsible will be held accountable politically and legally.

Calling the law-and-order situation a failure, he demanded that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu resign. He further stated that leaders from backward communities are being targeted with false cases and harassment, citing his own prior imprisonment, and said attempts to force him to abandon the YSRCP would never succeed.
