Narne Srinivasa Rao joins YSRCP

In a major development and setback to the ruling TDP, Narne Srinivasa Rao joined YSR Congress Party and met Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Narne Srinivasa Rao, father-in-law of Junior NTR, told media here on Thursday after the meeting that he joined the Party to strengthen the hands of YS Jagan Mohan and would work for the Party.

When asked if his close relationship with the NTR family would not be affected by the joining, he said, “That is a family matter while this is a political issue which need not be overlapped.”

He also said that he did not ask for any seat and was not sure if he will contest or not but will abide by the decision of the leadership.

Jr NTR is the grandson of NT Rama Rao, the founder member of TDP. Narne Srinivasa Rao is the second person from the NTR family to join YSRCP.

Earlier, NTR’s grandson and son of former Union Minister D Purandeswari joined the Party and met YSRCP leader with his father Daggubati Venkateswara Rao, who had a long political innings.
