Naidu yatra a ploy: Lakshmi Parvathi

Amaravati: Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu started the ‘bus yatra’ only because of the fear of cases against him. He should let people know the main reason behind his yatra, said Telugu Akademi Chairperson N Lakshmi Parvathi.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Lakshmi Parvathi said that Naidu, along with his son Lokesh, looted thousands of crores of public money and mortgaged the state benefits to Singapore companies. “Now, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is doing so much for the welfare of the public by implementing various schemes.

“People are not at all welcoming Naidu and no one is turning up for the bus yatra. Only a section of the media is reporting fabricated news stating that a huge crowd turned up for Naidu. It is evident that he made PPAs for his personal benefit and put the State future at stake by leaving the economy in debts. Our government created four lakh jobs through village and ward secretariats Naidu didn’t even provide unemployment dole for one complete year, but Jagan Mohan Reddy created jobs and made their living sustainable,” she said.

“Naidu is saying that 340 farmers have committed suicide during our regime. He should think twice before spreading such false news. Our government gave surplus water for agriculture, rythu bharosa centres were established and farmers are given support price for crops. If there are any suicides by the farmers, it was during the TDP rule for not keeping its promise of clearing farm loans, not supplying seeds and fertilisers. Today, Rayalaseema farmers are very happy with our government,” said Lakshmi Parvathi.

“TDP members might have eye problems and unable to see the development in the State. They have to undergo eye tests under Kanti Velugu programme. Our Chief Minister brought revolutionary changes in education and health sectors and it was his idea to provide nutritious food to children under Goru Mudha. During TDP rule, almost 6000 schools were shut down and children suffered due to the lack of bathrooms and playground. Naidu is least bothered about public welfare and that is why he was rejected by the public in the elections,” she said.

Meanwhile, YSRCP MLA Ambati Rambabu lambasted Naidu for not reacting to the recent I-T raids on his former personal secretary Pendyala Srinivas. " Naidu started his praja chaitanya yatra only to divert the attention of the public from these raids," he said.

"Naidu didn't give way to an ambulance during his public address at Marturu in Prakasam district and it clearly shows his mindset," he said and addedthat the Chief minister has been trying to decrease the influence of money in elections while Naidu is putting all-out efforts to influence people through money in the elections.
