Naidu betrays youth with DSC scam

Nellore, September 17: YSRCP MLC Chandrasekhar Reddy strongly condemned the coalition government for its betrayal of unemployed youth and failure to control rampant illegal sand and gravel mining. Speaking at the YSRCP city office in Nellore, he criticised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of running a government obsessed with publicity while destroying lives and livelihoods.
He reminded that the coalition came to power with promises of a mega DSC with 50,000 posts, 20 lakh jobs, and a job calendar. But after forming the government, they issued a notification for only 16,000 posts and dragged the process for over 16 months, subjecting nearly 4 lakh applicants to harassment. Multiple court cases, TET re-exams, and a 22-session DSC exam shattered merit and created widespread injustice.

“Instead of a transparent single-day exam like in Bihar or Telangana, the coalition deliberately split DSC into 22 sessions, manipulated normalization scores, and cheated genuine candidates. Even CBSE-qualified candidates were allowed to write TET but later declared ineligible for DSC — something unheard of in any other state. This is nothing but betrayal of students’ aspirations,” he said.
Chandrasekhar Reddy slammed the decision to summon all 16,000 selected candidates to Tadepalli for appointment orders, forcing them to travel, stay overnight in makeshift arrangements, and suffer indignities. “Earlier, DEOs issued orders locally. But Chandrababu, blinded by his obsession with publicity, is turning even job recruitment into a political show. This is harassment, not recruitment,” he said.
He contrasted this with the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government, which created 6.48 lakh jobs (2.31 lakh regular, 43,923 contract, and 3.73 lakh outsourcing posts) between 2019–24. Jagan also fulfilled pending DSC promises from 1998, 2008, and 2018 without publicity, giving rightful jobs to thousands after decades of delay. “YS Jagan delivered silently with transparency. Chandrababu delivers drama with injustice,” he added.
On law and order, he condemned the unchecked sand and gravel mafia that is endangering lives across Andhra Pradesh. Hundreds of overloaded tippers continue to ply illegally, destroying roads and killing innocents. The latest tragedy near Atmakur, Nellore district, claimed seven lives including that of a child, when a sand lorry belonging to a key TDP leader rammed into a vehicle.
“Unemployed youth are cheated, merit is destroyed, reservation is tampered with, and now innocent lives are being lost to the sand mafia. The coalition government’s negligence and corruption are pushing Andhra Pradesh into darkness,” Chandrasekhar Reddy said.
He concluded by demanding that all meritorious candidates who were denied jobs due to normalization fraud and reservation irregularities be immediately appointed, and warned that YSRCP will intensify its fight until justice is delivered.
YSRCP also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families who lost loved ones in the Atmakur accident.
