Kakinada : Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kannababu slammed Opposition Chief Chandrababu Naidu for taking a dig at Sakshi media despite the I-T Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) giving clean chit to Jagati Publications in regard to investments.
Speaking to media here on Wednesday, the Minister said the people of interest had invested Rs 1,200 crore white money legally in Sakshi news paper in 2008 and cases were registered against Sakshi and other companies owned by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as he didn't call off his Odarpu yatra and added that Congress and TDP were behind the conspiracy. The Minister said Naidu is unable to digest the verdict of Tribunal and venting out his frustration.
The Minister sought an inquiry on Naidu's wealth and Heritage Company. He said the share value of Heritage is increased while Naidu was in power and fell when he lost the power and questioned the link between power and Heritage shares. He said Naidu has been using his influence to make sure no inquiry is made on cases related to his properties, cash for vote case, Yeleru and Amaravati scams.
The Minister lashed out at Naidu for making false claims against Bharathi Cements and said Bharathi Cements and other companies are offering cement at a cost of Rs 230 per bag to 28 government institutions for construction of irrigation projects, government schools, housing and other works. He said the cement companies have delivered 28 lakh metric tons of cement to government on rebate price and questioned Naidu if Heritage had given any product to government on rebate.
