Lab reports rule out animal fat; faith exploited for politics

Tirupati, Feb 2: YSRCP state spokesperson and former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of doing politics with devotees’ faith by suppressing facts in the Tirumala laddu issue and promoting false propaganda. Speaking to the media in Tirupati, he said both NDDB and NDRI laboratory reports clearly stated that no animal fat was found in the ghee samples, yet a coordinated campaign of flex boards, hoardings, and social media misinformation is being run using photos of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Y.V. Subba Reddy, and himself, branding them as “ghee adulteration culprits.” He stated this was a planned diversion tactic because people are not believing the false narrative.

Bhumana strongly condemned recent attacks on YSRCP leaders’ houses, including the attack on Ambati Rambabu and petrol bomb incidents targeting Jogi Ramesh’s residence, calling them diversionary violence meant to overshadow the CBI findings. He stated that the supplementary CBI SIT chargesheet makes it clear that the main accused Bhole Baba Dairy (formerly Harsh Fresh Dairy) had supplied ghee to TTD during Chandrababu Naidu’s earlier tenure itself and that another accused, Premier Dairy, received supply opportunities mostly during the TDP period. He questioned whether it was not Chandrababu who damaged the sanctity of Lord Venkateswara by publicly alleging pig fat, beef fat, and fish oil in laddu prasadam.

He further said the SIT found no role of the then TTD board leadership in adulteration and indicated that certain technical officials, continuing from the previous TDP period, colluded with suppliers. He accused TDP and allied media of shifting narratives and even questioning central agencies after the reports disproved animal fat claims. He maintained that YSRCP had in fact tightened tender norms, introduced NDDB-linked testing, and worked toward in-house ghee production through indigenous cow breeds and scientific testing systems.

Bhumana questioned why the Chief Minister continued repeating allegations even after the Supreme Court–monitored probe found no animal fat, and asked whether provoking public anger and encouraging hostility against YSRCP leaders was responsible governance. He said using Lord Venkateswara and sacred prasadam as political tools hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees and amounted to moral wrongdoing. He concluded that people would judge who truly used God for politics and warned that faith should never be compromised for political survival.
