Ensure Central schemes reach people

Hyderabad, Feb 1: YSRCP has urged the coalition government to make use of the various welfare schemes prioritized in the Union Budget and shun making tall claims and has slammed the State for the unabated violence against political adversaries.
Speaking to media here on Sunday, former Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy said various central schemes are not being either implemented or are going overboard only to secure more of the central share and diverting the funds has been the practice of the State.
During the previous year, under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the State has raised Rs 12,000 crore in loans while the national figure is Rs 17,000 crore, and yet the fruits of the scheme are not seen in the State. The backward districts development scheme for farmers should be properly implemented in the Anantapuram, Satya Sai, Annamayya and Alluri Sitarama Raju districts, he said.
On Polavaram as well, TDP has always been on the wrong side and has compromised on various fronts as its priorities lie elsewhere. The allotment made in the Union Budget should be judiciously used and the approach should be proper, he said.
The State has diluted or not implemented various schemes of the Centre to serve its selfish interests as it has rejected medical college seats. Though the Centre has announced MSP for pulses, it is not implemented in the State and farmers are being exploited.
The State has been very aggressive in taking loans and after assuming office it has taken around Rs 3.15 lakh crore, while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during the five-year tenure borrowed Rs 3 lakh crore and fulfilled all the poll promises.
Chandrababu, on the other hand, failed to fulfill the poll promises and there is no accountability, and he has been raising more loans without giving details of where the money is going, he said.
He condemned the growing attacks on political adversaries and said terrorizing people using such tactics will only boomerang.
