Visakhapatnam, Dec 20: YSRCP has slammed the coalition government on the deteriorating law and order situation and increasing crime rate and cases of atrocities against women.
Speaking to media here on Saturday, Party MLC Varudu Kalyani said there is no safety for women in the 18 months of the coalition government and the response time in crimes against women is high and the Centre has taken note of it. During the YSRCP term, the response time was just two to three minutes and the Union Home Ministry has flagged the issue.
The crime rate against women has increased by 11 percent, which shows the state of affairs and the level of safety for women, she said. In Vizianagaram, which is the home district of Home Minister V Anita, the crime rate against women has risen by 26 percent.
Chandrababu himself has confessed to the growing crime rate in his letter to Amit Shah and it is TDP leaders and cadre that are responsible for the growing atrocities against women and other cases of crime, including peddling of ganja.
Corruption is rampant and there is no safety for women, she said, adding that it is the Red Book constitution that is running in the State to safeguard the interests of the coalition and to target the opposition party members during the 18 months of governance.
