Kakinada, Jan19: Former Minister Kurasala Kannababu said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has no moral right to speak about credibility, as his political history is marked by unfulfilled promises and diversionary politics.
Speaking to the media at his camp office in Kakinada, Kannababu said the people of the State clearly know who has credibility and who does not. He alleged that Chandrababu’s only political agenda, irrespective of the platform, is to criticise Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, while indulging in constant self-praise. He said this habit has become second nature to the Chief Minister.
The former Minister recalled that Chandrababu had betrayed the late N. T. Rama Rao, and said it was unfortunate that even at NTR’s death anniversary meeting, the Chief Minister chose self-glorification instead of speaking about NTR’s ideals. He said history itself answers the question of who truly has credibility in public life.
Kannababu alleged that under the coalition government, large-scale land irregularities were taking place, with valuable land being allotted to favoured corporates at throwaway prices. He accused the government of encouraging land, sand, liquor and drug mafias, while misleading people through false propaganda such as “Super Six Super Hit”.
He further alleged that the liquor sector had deteriorated under the present regime, with illegal sales, excessive pricing and even door delivery, turning the festive season into a profit festival for liquor syndicates. He also claimed that Andhra Pradesh was fast becoming a drugs hub due to government inaction.
The former Minister said Chandrababu was resorting to credit theft and historical distortion by claiming credit for projects and investments initiated earlier. He concluded that repeated attacks on Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy were meant only to divert public attention from the failures of the present government.
