Chandrababu’s love for BCs, a political drama

Rajamahendravaram, April 12: Former Minister and East Godavari YSRCP President Chelluboina Venu Gopala Krishna has lambasted TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu, stating that he lacks genuine intent for BC welfare. He stated that Chandrababu has always treated BCs as a vote bank and systematically dismantled key welfare schemes introduced by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy such as Amma Vodi, Cheyutha, Chedodu, Matsyakara Bharosa, and Nethanna Nestham.
He said Chandrababu intentionally rolled back English medium education in government schools and sabotaged YS Jagan’s education reforms to keep BCs away from development. The former CM’s politics, he claimed, are rooted in caste-based suppression. Programs supporting BC occupations were stopped, and women above 45 were denied benefits like Cheyutha. Despite promising ₹10,000 crores annually for BCs, Chandrababu spent only ₹20,000 crores during 2014–19. In contrast, the YSRCP government spent ₹1.82 lakh crores through DBT and non-DBT initiatives for BCs over five years.
Venu Gopala Krishna stated that even the 56 BC Corporations established by YS Jagan are now being falsely claimed by Chandrababu. He accused Chandrababu of obstructing 34% BC reservations in local bodies by pushing TDP leaders to file cases in the Supreme Court, reducing the quota to 24%. He criticized the CM for insulting BCs with derogatory remarks and for remaining silent when BC leaders like Lingamayya were attacked.
He further condemned the increase in attacks and false cases on BC leaders under the current coalition regime, naming Jogi Ramesh, Gorantla Madhav, and others. He concluded that Chandrababu’s track record shows consistent betrayal and suppression of BCs, while YSR and YS Jagan’s governance empowered them with education, welfare, and equal political participation.
