Tirupati, August 20: Former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakara Reddy fiercely criticized current TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu for his vulgar language and mismanagement, calling it unprecedented and unfit for the custodian of Lord Venkateswara’s sacred trust. Speaking at his Tirupati residence, Bhumana condemned Naidu’s remarks as “rowdy-like,” tarnishing the deity’s sanctity revered by millions. “No TTD chairman has stooped so low,” he asserted, urging Naidu to fix governance flaws instead of resorting to personal attacks.
Bhumana challenged Naidu’s accusations against him and former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, demanding a CBI inquiry into claims about his tenure. “If guilty, I’m ready for punishment,” he declared, dismissing Naidu’s labels like ‘rascal’ and ‘dacoit’ as thuggish. He questioned Naidu’s credibility, asking how a former BHEL peon amassed crores through dubious ventures like ineffective baldness and knee pain remedies.
“Your self-praise is hollow, name one meaningful contribution,” Bhumana challenged, contrasting it with his own initiatives like Annaprasadam in queues, SV Bhakti Channel, Dalit Govindam, and global Kalyanams, which enhanced devotee welfare and Hindu dharma.
Highlighting current mismanagement under the coalition government, Bhumana pointed to queue stampedes, belt shops on the hill, excessive VIP darshan quotas (over 7,500 daily), and devotees running for entry due to poor coordination. “You dodge these failures with abuse and threats,” he said, citing vigilance reports on misuse of funds for Lakshmi Poojas and illogical Srivani darshan timing shifts. He refuted Naidu’s claims of superior management, noting high devotee footfall is routine, yet recent unrests expose lapses. He also recalled his 2007 resolution under Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to limit TTD jobs to Hindus, contrasting Naidu’s inflated claim of 200 non-Hindu staff against the EO’s 20.
Bhumana accused Naidu of pre-appointment political smears against YSRCP to secure the chairmanship and spreading false narratives about YS Jagan’s devotion. “You forget YSJagan offered silk robes as CM,” he said. Vowing relentless scrutiny,
Bhumana warned, “Your arrogance won’t silence us. Fix queue chaos,, and favoritism, or face exposure. We won’t back down like your sycophants, your flaws will be your undoing.”
