Sharmila moves on after a spirited 200 days

Hyderabad, July 5,
2013: Smt. Y.S. Sharmila, the arrow that came out of the bow of YSR Congress
Chief Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Friday completed 200 days of her Maro
Praja Prasthanam Padayatra walking a distance of 2664.8 km.

On July 5, she stepped
into the Visakhapatnam East assembly constituency, the 100th one
trekked by her during the course of Maro Praja Prasthanam which she began at
Idupulapaya in YSR district on Oct 18 last.

Storming her Padayatra
through 1565 villages in 159 Mandals and 8 Municipal Corporations and 38
Municipal towns in 12 districts during a period of 200 days, she bore the brunt
of the vagaries of nature as she addressed 143 public meetings and interacted
with people at 194 Rachchabanda programmes in 12 districts.

With innumerable bouts
of patience and abundance of interest, Smt. Sharmila listened to people’s woes,
especially those of the poor and the womenfolk during her walkathon and responded
with assurance that their problems would be solved once the YSRCP came into
power.

As she walked through
the thick and thin of the rough and kachcha
roads that connected villages and hamlets across the state, people ran and
hurried along the fields and competed among themselves to see her and shake
hands with her first.

In the districts of YSR,
Anantapuram, Kurnool, Mahaboobnagar, RR, Nalgonda, Guntur, Krishna, Khammam,
West Godavari, East Godavari and Visakhapatnam covered so far by Smt. Sharmila,
people welcomed her with the same love, affection and applause as they
displayed during Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Odarpu Yatra.

Within the next few
days, she is set to reach the targeted 3000-km milestone of her Maro Praja Prasthanam
Padayatra by walking through the length and breadth of another two districts-
Vijayannagaram and Srikakulam and set a record of sorts.
