YSRCP demands Naidu’s apology

Hyderabad, August 29: YSRCP has demanded an unconditional apology from TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu for his allegations and the irresponsible statement that the opinion poll survey conducted by a media house was a sponsored show.

“It is very heinous on part of Chandrababu Naidu to comment that our Party has sponsored or offered money for the survey which has given a thumping 21 of the 42 Parliament seats in the State to us. It is unbecoming on part of a person who served nine years as chief minister and is heading a Party of 30-year standing to make such baseless allegations and irresponsible comments,” party senior leaders Konatala Ramakrishan and DA Somayajulu told reporters here on Wednesday.

The Party which could not win a single by-election since 2009 should introspect its position and the reasons for the debacle but it has been hurling baseless allegations that YSRCP has sponsored an opinion poll which was carried out nation-wide to gauge the mood of the people, should there be an election, they said.

Chandrababu Naidu got the facts wrong and went on to say that the survey was conducted only in four states. It is an opinion poll being carried out on a national scale and results of 4 states were released and the media house will sum up the findings of all the States on a later date.

“His allegations and charges are baseless and filled with factual errors. He should tender an apology for his remarks that the opinion polls were sponsored,” they said.

As TDP base is fast eroding, Chandrababu Naidu has been leveling false charges. He had earlier said that YSRCP has offered money for Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani, when he met our Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, they said.

On the August 31 State bandh, they said, though the left parties have approached us to postpone it, no decision was taken. However, we express solidarity with all parties protesting against the Stat Government’s apathy in dealing with the power crisis, they said.
