Nellore: YSR Congress Party urged people to make success Andhra Pradesh bandh called by left parties on Thursday. Party MLA Kakani Goverdhan Reddy said the YSR Congress will also take part in the bandh.
Left parties called bandh against the injustice meted out to Andhra in the budget allocations and also denial of its rights including special status, special package, new Railway zone, Polavaram and Steel plant in Kadapa district.
Reddy alleged that centre did not respect the sentiments of Andhra people and failed to fulfill even a single promise made during 2014 elections. Chandrababu Naidu demanded special status to Andhra for 15 years and vowed to fight for the cause with the centre. After coming to power, Chandrababu mortgaged the state interests.
The YSR Congress leader said that party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will also halt his Padayatra and participate in bandh. The YSR Congress has been fighting for Special status. To suppress the struggle, government arrested the leaders and also registered cases.
Reddy said YS Jagan will intensify the struggle for special status and fight until centre conceded the demands
