YSRCP MLAs meet Guv, complain against CBI

Hyderabad, June 13,
2013: YSR Congress MLAs on Thursday called on Governor ESL Narasimhan and
complained that CBI has been working under the direction of TDP in probing the
party chief Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s case. They sought directions to the
CBI to investigate the case in an impartial manner at least now.

Speaking to reporters
at Raj Bhavan after meeting Narasimhan, MLAs Srikanth Reddy and Bhuma Sobha
Nagi Reddy said they had submitted a memorandum to the Governor seeking his
involvement and directions to the central probing agency to complete the probe
in a free and fair manner.

The memorandum said that
the CBI, which had arrested Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy on May 27, 2012 at the behest
of Congress and TDP to prevent him from meeting the people, has been taking
instructions from the Congress and TDP leaders from the very beginning to keep
Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy in jail as long as possible.

The MLAs informed the
Governor that CBI didn’t arrest the YSRCP Chief for 250 days after filing the
FIR. “But, four weeks after TDP MP Nama Nageswara Rao demanded his arrest in
the Lok Sabha and four days after Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal announced
that he would be arrested, the agency arrested Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy on May
27,” they said in the memorandum, pointing out that the sequence of events had
exposed the conspiracy against the party chief.

They told the Governor
that CBI has been systematically leaking the information to TDP and its captive
media on the course of the investigation while the  media published highly biased and exaggerated
news stories whenever the bail petition of Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy came up for
hearing with a view to deny bail to him.

The MLAs cited the
instances of CM Kiran Kumar Reddy seeking resignation of Dharmana Prasada Rao
and Sabita Indra reddy a few days after Chandrababu sought their dismissal and
CBI filing memo in the Nampally Court to shift Vijay Sai Reddy from
Chanchalguda jail hardly three days after TDP MLA Revanth Reddy made such a
demand.

They said the two
instances had clearly exposed the conspiracy of TDP and Congress against Sri
Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Accusing CBI of
misleading the courts at the instance of Congress and TDP to ensure bail is
denied to him and charging the agency with failing to unearth any evidence
against the YSRCP chief so far, the MLAs asked the Governor to direct CBI to
probe the Jagan Mohan Reddy case in a free and fair manner to ensure justice to
him.
